Raising awareness and promoting access to postsecondary education is part of the MSFAA Mission Statement and a goal for the LRSP. Therefore, through intentional practices, MSFAA will continue to utilize current strategies, through the Early Awareness and Multi-Cultural Outreach committee in addition to educating other higher education constituents and colleagues such as those in Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrar & Admissions Officers, Michigan Association of Student Financial Services Administrators, Michigan Association of College Admissions Counselors, and others. It is also recommended that efforts of educating our Michigan and Congressional leaders through purposeful communication and visits be reintroduced to assist in advocating on behalf of students and the financial aid profession. These efforts would be coordinated by the Legislative Issues Committee in conjunction with the President. Consideration may be given to a Legislative Day in Lansing, comments to Congressional leaders in Washington, D.C. on various financial aid proposed bills and regulatory changes.
